Valentines Day

Am I the only person who thinks Valentines day is a waste?
Well its not a complete waste but whats the point of having a day to celebrate "love" I mean dont we celebrate love everyday.

Dont you tell the one, the special one, that you love them atleast once a day? Dont you take her out for a fancy dinner, a dance, give her flowers or get her a box of chociess atleast once a month?

Am I expecting too much in a relationship? Wait am I even old enough to think about love?

Valentines just makes me cringe...whole shopping centres filled with hearts and flowers..huge teddy bears, flowers, boxes and boxes of choclate, more flowers.
ARGH if saying "merry christmas" offends people who dont celebrate christmas then all the fuss about valentines day offends the people who are alone.

Meh...Dont get me wrong...I do believe in a thing called love...however silly it may sound but your soul does recognise its counterpoint...but usually it doesnt work out but your soul knows who it belongs with...even tho that isnt the person you are with or end up with.

Anyway Happy Valentines day to all the lovers out there

Found it.

Yes after a couple of years and a few days of intense thought I have finally found what I want to do. Finally.

Time Mag to the resuce. Sitting at the library with my piece of paper with my 4 career choices and an older issue of time that was about Medicial Heroes or something (bad memory)

Medecins Sans Frontieres.

This is what I want to do. Theres no doubt about it. This is it.

I was on the american page readng some of the stories..I had actual tears in my eyes. I have never been this inspired in my life. These people are truly heroes.

Funny...last night I was talking to a friend about how much I love modern plumbing and other luxuries which Australia has to offer but this morning I didnt matter. Theres people who die of preventable diseases and I care about my hour long baths and A/C?? -rolls eyes at her own words-
I want to go to bed at night knowing that I have done something to be proud of, knowing that I have made a difference.

Whats the point of a having a poshy lil surgery in town anyway....I want something challenging.

Hopefully this will last. Now I guess I have to focus on getting into Med school.

(So I was in the library with a book open for other reasons but hey look at what I found out instead)

Life has a way of working out...half the time it works in weird ways..but it works!

Another kick.

Once again my idea has been dismissed.

Arghhh!!

My idea about having a white band day at the old school - no one had time and no one wanted to put any effort.
This time it was about “Youth Stirring Week” to raise money for the African food crisis. (stir.org.au) What did the Schools-guy-whose-incharge-of-fundraisers-and-SRC say “we are trying to cut down on our charity work because we support ‘red nose’ , ‘Sunnies for sight’ and some other charity which I forgot.” I mean yes its fair that we support enough already but the kids want to have some fun, they have money, they want to do this so why stop them? And you wont die if run just one more charity event to help feed dying kids in Africa.

The SRC gets to decide which organisations to support…which is fair…but no-one knows any SRC reps from year 9. You give us hour long speeches about how to voice our opinions, to think of ways to make a difference but when we come forward with ideas you tell us that we are doing enough already.
I even asked if we could do a 40 hour famine thing at school … “we will have to discuss all of that with the SRC” hopefully there are people who care in the SRC.

Nuff’ bitching for now.

New Start.

New beginning. New people. New oppurnities. New challenges. New friends.
I started a new school a few days ago and I must say its one of the best things that has happened has to me.

The people are awesome. My classes on the other hand arent soo good since I feel like I am being under-utilised which is horrible since I beleive in myself...ah well nothing can be perfect.

A couple of days ago I was making a list of things that I would do when "life" began...(people I'd say "hi" to, crazy things I always wanted to do, helping out..ya know the drag) seems like a cliché but I realised that my life has already started. The things that are always getting in the middle for me to "live life" is what life is, the drama's, the tests, the scrapped knees, the broken hearts, the birthdays, the holidays.

A scary thought but I'll be voting in 4years time. I will be out of school in about 3 years. Ah life is moving too fast....loovvveee it tho.
